Every third person in the world owns a smart phone

Although smart phones are common in the developed world, there are still plenty of people who still do not have one, and these smart mobile devices are still rare in developing countries.

However, the growth of smart phones is growing, and according to the latest findings from Strategy Analytic report, the number of smart phone users globally reached 2 billion in 2014.
By the end of 2015, the research company predicts that the number of users will increase to 2.5 billion or will constitute 35 percent of the world's population.
Strategy Analytic defines a "user" as a person who owns and uses one or more active smart phones.
This is a significant increase since 2013 only 1.5 billion (or 22 percent of the world population) had in their possession a smart phone.
