Nokia has officially announced for reaching an agreement for the purchase of the French company for telecommunications equipment Alcatel-Lucent for a whopping amount of 16.6 billion.

This is the first acquisition by Nokia of time when the Finnish company had sold its unit of mobile phones to Microsoft for 4.9 billion pounds, after several years of operating losses.
A week ago, Nokia announced its interest in selling TIMES maps service and all its patents maps and technologies associated with them.
