Xiaomi expects to triple its revenue from mobile services such as games and applications for payment, and that the figure of company revenue is expected to grow to nearly 1 billion dollars this year, is said by the director of the company, Lei Jun.
In an interview with the Wall Street Journal that coincides with the launch of the Xiaomi byzylykut fitness, Mi Band, Lei said that he sees Chinese companies like Alibaba and Tencent Holdings as its future rivals.
"The way Tencent and Alibaba earn money today, will be how Xiaomi will win money in the future," he said.
Last year the company made less than 300 million dollars in revenue from mobile services, said Lei, but total revenue this year is expected to reach approximately 16 billion dollars, with the mobile services accounted for about 6 percent of the number .
