Almost 40 percent of Dutch users of smart phones have at least one music application installed on their phones, said according to research recently published by Telecompaper for mobile applications in the Netherlands.
Music applications, such as Spotify and iTunes, are especially popular among young people and the same have reached more than two-thirds of the age group in March of 2015.
The survey found that the most popular application in the Netherlands remains WhatsApp, installed in almost 9.7 million smart phones.
Application penetration increased to almost 88 percent of Dutch users in March 2015. Although WhatsApp is still gaining popularity in the overall market, the application shows a small decrease among young people in the last six months.
Snapchat while growing steadily, especially among young people, and has come to be installed in over 1.7 million mobile phones in the Netherlands.
Snapchat number of users rose almost three-fold over the previous year, to reach about 16 percent of all Dutch users in March 2015.
